Collectively, these centers bring together many of the top rural health researchers in the United States. Five of the six RHRCs have been funded previously as RHRCs; the Rural Health Reform Policy Research Center is new to the RHRC program. Over the next four years, the RHRCs will study critical issues facing rural communities in their quest to secure adequate, affordable, high-quality health services for their residents. RHRC research findings inform a wide audience of decision-makers concerned about rural health and have been instrumental in bridging gaps between policy and program needs.
Initiated in 1988, this is the only Federal program that is dedicated entirely to producing policy-relevant research on health care in rural areas.
The Rural Health Research Gateway provides free access to all RHRC publications and findings, detailed information about every current and previously-funded RHRC, and a directory of rural health researchers including contact information via an online library located at ruralhealthresearch.org. |
